چکیده

The investigation of the characterization Adansonia digitata biomass from pyrolysis in a fixed-bed tubular carbon steel reactor at temperatures 400℃ to 700℃. Firstly, proximate, ultimate, and heating value analyses raw were obtained prior experimental runs via fast process; thereafter, quality bio-oil biochar yields for bioenergy industrial applications was investigated using following analyses: higher values (HHV), lower (LHV), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR). Optimum (52.70 wt%) bio-char (40 500 400℃, respectively. GC-MS analysis yielded biooil revealed percentage oleic acid, phenol, methanol, ketone among fuel compositions, whereas chemical composition includes (70.99%), hydrogen (13.40%), nitrogen (0.54%), oxygen (15.01%), sulfur (0.06%), flash (81) pour points (-7) with HHV (30.75 MJ/kg) LHV (27). results demonstrated that properties products can serve as waste management strategy, sorbent, soil enhancer, biofuel industry application.

Proximate Analysis, Phytochemical Screening and Antimicrobial Activity of Baobab (Adansonia digitata) Leaves

Baobab (Adansonia digitata L.) is known in Africa as the tree of life because there are many traditional uses for every part of it, from the leaves to the roots. This study carried out the proximate analysis of baobab leaves, screened the phytochemicals present and determined the leaves’ aqueous extract antimicrobial activity to suit the traditional way of preparation and use. Phytochemicals sc...

The history of introduction of the African baobab (Adansonia digitata, Malvaceae: Bombacoideae) in the Indian subcontinent

To investigate the pathways of introduction of the African baobab, Adansonia digitata, to the Indian subcontinent, we examined 10 microsatellite loci in individuals from Africa, India, the Mascarenes and Malaysia, and matched this with historical evidence of human interactions between source and destination regions. Genetic analysis showed broad congruence of African clusters with biogeographic...

Modeling Wood Gasification in a Countercurrent Fixed-Bed Reactor

A one-dimensional, unsteady mathematical model is presented of fixed-bed countercurrent wood gasifiers, which couples heat and mass transport with wood drying and devolatilization, char gasification, and combustion of both char and gas-phase species. The model is used to simulate the structure of the reaction fronts and the gasification behavior of a laboratory-scale plant as the reactor throug...

Status of African baobab (Adansonia digitata) across Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe

An assessment was done to determine the abundance and structure of baobab (Adansonia digitata) across Gonarezhou National Park, Zimbabwe. Baobabs were sampled on fifteen belt transects of constant width of 300 m with fifteen baobabs in each belt transect determined the length of a particular belt transect between May and June 2012. Our results showed that there were no significant differences i...

A 1000-Year Carbon Isotope Rainfall Proxy Record from South African Baobab Trees (Adansonia digitata L.)

A proxy rainfall record for northeastern South Africa based on carbon isotope analysis of four baobab (Adansonia digitata L.) trees shows centennial and decadal scale variability over the last 1,000 years. The record is in good agreement with a 200-year tree ring record from Zimbabwe, and it indicates the existence of a rainfall dipole between the summer and winter rainfall areas of South Afric...
